Perfect Game for Curtis Smith

From the Wolfpack:

No matter what league or level you play baseball at there are certain things in the game that are magical.  The perfect game might be the most magical of them all.  It was a great pleasure to be a part of Curtis Smith’s perfect game last night! Smitty dominated from start to finish against the Cardinals, a top FMBA team in itself.  The Wolfpack was in a bit of disarray going into the game, but after seeing 11 strikeouts and an even amount of ground balls & fly balls we left feeling pretty good. It was a Perfect night in FMBA history, Hats off to #27 Curtis Smith!

BackPacks Sweep Kelowna Tourney

From the Diamondbacks:

The BackPacks pulled together an impressive squad for the Canada Day long weekend in Kelowna. Players were sent by the Cardinals, Dukes, Wolfpack and Diamondbacks creating an outfield known as “Shark Week”, an infield which turned double plays into butter and a pitching staff that used 4 pitchers over 5 games – 3 of which went to extra innings and as a whole went undefeated 5-0.

Wayne Joseph Leitch

From Calgary Longhorns:

It’s with great sadness that I announce the passing of Wayne Leitch. Wayne was a original Longhorn and instrumental in starting the team in 1993. Not only was he one of the best players to ever play in the FMBA, he was a outstanding teammate and friend. He brought is college mentality to every game, and when you needed a big hit you wanted Wayne at the plate. His drag bunts were always perfect and no one could delay steal like Wayne. He always thought about other people first and was the most unselfish person I knew. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Number 4 will live on forever. I speak for everyone when I say THANK YOU FOR BEING MY FRIEND, TEAMMATE, WE LOVE YOU. Rest in Peace my friend.
