We’ve made it! The 48th season of FMBA baseball is underway starting today as the Longhorns will open up vs the Twins at 6:30pm, with 8 more games slated this weekend. We’ve seen a few changes this offseason at the league executive with a couple new volunteers, and a few old faces returning. Big thanks to all of them, they put in a lot of work behind the scenes to get things underway and keep the league running, and it really is a thankless job. So thank you guys!
The FMBA remains strong with 10 teams and we will see another 23 game marathon before playoffs start. A couple big questions: can last year’s champions the White Sox defend their title with the target on their back now? Also – how many rainout dates will we have this year? (Hopefully zero). And lastly from an old timers perspective – just who are half the players in this league? Seriously, we have seen a big influx of new players on rosters this offseason, it is awesome to see.
Good luck to all teams, let’s have some fun! As in previous seasons we will be doing monthly awards so stay tuned!
