June monsoon, every year amirite? We saw a bunch of rainout games at the end of the month, but whaddaya gonna do? Just means more July and August ball!
The top 6 teams have pretty much clinched playoff spots so far. There is a battle for the top seed with the Dukes and White Sox (currently tied with 14-3 records) facing off in July. Don’t rule out the Giants from the top seed either, as they only trail by one in the loss column and do face the White Sox twice as well.
The final two playoff spots are currently a three team race between the Longhorns, Cardinals and Guns. The Longhorns and Cardinals had all three matchups rained out in June, so that final spot could come down to those games which have been rescheduled for the end of July. The Guns also have a reschedule game with the Longhorns in July.
Now for our June studs. Again, the top hitting and pitching stud will receive a pair of flip shades courtesy Papi Sunglasses and Calgary Septic and Water. A big thank you to them for the support!

DJ DePiero clearly isn’t just a PO. In June, he kept the offensive Stud award on the Wolfpack by leading the league in total bases (29), hits (16), and home runs (3), while hitting a crisp .615. He started off the month going nuclear – 3-3 with 2 HR, 3 R and 4 RBI in a 18-0 dime vs the Giants.
The White Sox went 6-2 in June and OF Brett Brittany was a huge part, going 11-15 (.733) at the plate including 4 multi-hit games. He saved the best for last – being a single shy of the cycle going 4-4 with 1 2B, 2 3B and a HR in a 9-8 comeback win vs the Twins.
Dukes C Andrew Doyle just missed this list in May, but stayed hot in June. He lead the league in runs (15) while adding 12 RBI and a couple dingers. Behind the dish he also threw out a couple runners to boot. He started off the month being a HR shy of the cycle going 4-4 with 2 RBI and 3 R in a 20-10 dime over the Cardinals.

Newcomer to the league Jordan Moffat has been impressive to start his FMBA career. In June he lead the league in wins going 3-0, finished 2nd in Ks (27), and had elite control with only 1 BB issued in 17IP to lead the league in BB/7IP (0.47). His signature outing was a 5IP 2H gem, leading the White Sox to a 7-2 victory over the Guns.
DJ DePiero is putting up one of the better seasons on the mound in recent FMBA memory. In June he lead the league in Ks (28) across 14 IP with an elite 3:28 BB:K ratio. The same highlight game he had on offense also featured him being equally solid on the mound: throwing a 5IP CG shutout in the 18-0 victory over the Giants.
Tom Gayef continues to age like a fine wine, just getting it done for the Diamondbacks as he has done going on 14 seasons now. The FMBA All-time leader in wins threw 9 innings in two June appearances, allowing only 4 hits and 1 ER. This included a tidy 5IP 6K performance in a win over the Dinos.
Congrats to all the June “Studs”, we’re on the home stretch of the schedule now with only one more month of awards left. See you at the end of July.
