I love that we started the year on record pace for least rainouts and ended up with possibly the most ever! Classic Calgary weather. Anywho, we made it to the end of the season.
The longer you stay in this league, the faster the seasons get. We had a couple playoff races that went down to the final weekend, and as usual the playoff standings aren’t clear until the last possible game. It’s been a pretty close season and I’m looking forward to seeing who will show up in the playoffs!
Now for our July/August Studs. Big shoutout once again to our sponsors Papi Sunglasses and Calgary Septic and Water. If anyone needs a sick pair of flip ups, take a look at Papi, there is a couple new ones I’ve been eyeing.

Brett Brittany may not be human. He hit in every game he played in July & August against some of the top teams in the league. This helped him finish the season with a ridiculous .610 batting average. His signature game was a 3 hit job vs the Dukes helping them win a close 5-4 game, in which he scored the winning run.
Oh hey, it’s DJ Depiero making the Stud of the month writeup again. Save some shades for the rest of us hey? 😂 DJ is doing his best Shohei impersonation, leading the league in pitching and hitting. His signature game this month came against the Longhorns in a 14-3 beatdown, which saw DJ hit a 3B and HR.
Mitch McGeein has been tanking dingers for a few years now, but he finally makes his 2025 debut on these lists, and he did with an exclamation point! In a July 13 double header against the Dukes, Mitch hit a combined 4 home runs including 3 in one game (a game the Wolfpack lost!).

Another regular “stud” has been Steven Latos. I don’t remember him throwing this much until these lists started LOL, but he always dices on Mount FMBA mound. On August 7, he helped the Giants to a 12-2 win over the Cardinals striking out 8 in a 5IP CG.
The Dinos played a lot of games in July and August, and their young ace Wyatt Rogi was a big help to the staff starting 4 of them with the Dinos winning 3. This included a 6IP gem over the Wolfpack in a 13-5 win.
Stephen Barbour hasn’t thrown many innings this season, but he came threw when the Longhorns needed him most. With a playoff position on the line, Barbour threw not one but two wins over the Cardinals to get the Horns into the tournament. This included a 7IP CG, 13K performance on July 31.
This wraps up our “studs” awards for the year, but stay tuned as playoffs are starting Saturday, and will announce the regular league all star teams prior to the league championship. Good luck to all teams!
